Robert Jeffery

Robert Allen Jeffery of Lacon passed away September 3, 2014 at St. Josephs Nursing Home in Lacon. Bob was born February 26, 1934 in Waukegan IL to the late William and Hazel Ransom Jeffery. He was also preceded by brother William (Marilyn) Jeffery of Lacon and sister Marie (Andy) Anderson of Chillicothe.
Surviving is his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Earlene Pulliam Jeffery. They were married on June 29, 1952 in Lacon. Also surviving are his three children: Jerry(Nancy) Jeffery of Lacon, Larry(Cheryl) Jeffery of Lacon, Julie (Pete) Moline of Lacon; his six grandchildren: Cassie (Wayne ) Miller, Chad Jeffery, Kyle Jeffery, Ryan Jeffery, PJ Moline, and Laura (Tony) Schoepke.
Bob grew up and lived in Lacon his whole life. He attended Lacon Grade and Mid County High Schools. He worked 10 years at B&D Lumber in Lacon and Evans Plywood & Sequoia Suppliers in Peoria for 20 years where he retired from.
Bob and Earlene were avid boaters and RV campers for a fun 40 years with family and friends.
Bob's fun loving and witty sense of humor will be so dearly missed, along with his beautiful smile. He had the ability to find humor in anything and everything, in return making all smile and laugh. Family was his #1 priority all the way to the very end. Bob was the ideal husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family burial of ashes will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Lacon Sparland Ambulance or Vitas Hospice care in his name, two wonderful groups who take great pride in their careers of caring for others.
