Roberta Peterson


Benson- Roberta D. Peterson, 100, of Benson, IL, passed away at
8:38 am on Monday December 9, 2013 at her residence.


She was born on June 5, 1913 in rural Benson, IL to Gilford and
Emma Thierer Patterson. She married Virgil S. Peterson on August
26, 1934 in Benson, IL. He passed away on February 6, 2000.


Surviving is one son, Richard (Norma) Peterson of Benson; one
daughter, Virgene Murphy of Benson; one sister, Veramae Arends of
Lacon; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one great
great grandson.


She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Ray,
Wayne, and Wesley Patterson.


Roberta was a bookkeeper working for Roanoke -Benson Unit # 60 for
many years.


She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Benson where
she had been active in their ladies aid, she taught Sunday school,
and was the church financial secretary.


Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday at St. Paul
Lutheran Church in Benson. Pastor Nathan Feig will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 am on Thursday prior to the
services at the church. Burial will be in Clayton Township
Cemetery.
