ROANOKE- Sarah Lorraine France, 85, of Normal,
formerly of Roanoke, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at
Saint Joseph's Medical Center in Bloomington.
She was born on April 17, 1928, in
Proctorville, OH, the daughter of Lester Dale and Helen Lorraine
McCalla Freshcorn. She married Jimmie Jack France on May 4, 1947,
in Ohio, and he survives.
Also surviving are her children: Janis
(James) Liston, Bloomington; Beverly (Terry) Kirby, Lexington;
Karen (Chris) Sepich, Trempealeau, WI; and James (Amy) France,
Bloomington; nine grandchildren: Sarah Kirby, Jaclyn (Aaron)
Frailey, Natalie (Nathan) Whitted, Rachel (Mike) Frank, Elizabeth
Kirby, Emily France, Abigail Sepich, Annabelle Sepich, Nicholas
France; five great-grandchildren: Lauren Frailey, Celia Whitted,
Morgan Frailey, Macy Frank, and Coy Whitted; and two brothers: John
Freshcorn, Mason, OH, and Harold (Dorothy) Lunsford, Huntington,
WV.
She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law,
June Freshcorn.
Lorraine graduated from Blanchester High
School and attended Marshall University in Huntington, WV.
She was a member of Roanoke United Methodist
Church. Lorraine was an avid reader and flower gardener. However,
she found her greatest joy spending time with her beloved
family.
Funeral service will be at 11 AM on Monday, June 24, at the
Roanoke United Methodist Church in Roanoke. Visitation will be held
from 9 AM until the time of service at the church and interment
will be in Roanoke Township Cemetery.
