Shirley Crocker, 81, of Peoria formerly Lacon, died on December 10, 2015 at her residence.
Born on May 18, 1934 in Peoria to the late Charles and Violet Chapman Smith, she married Charles Crocker on September 22, 1952 in Lacon. From 1957 until 1966 they resided in Peru South America. Charles died May 12, 2000.
Shirley was a beautician out of her home in Lacon for many years, later working in a jewelry shop in Peoria.
She is survived by her daughter Dr. Robin Crocker-Wilson of Peoria; son J.C. (Angie) Crocker of Lacon; step child Sandy (Darrell) Britton of Neponset; sister Sally McElhaney of Chillicothe; and grandchildren Zach Wilson, Brooke (Brett) Stewart, Alexander Crocker, Megan Crocker, Alyssa Crocker and BeeBe Crocker.
She was also preceded by her brother George Smith, companion of many years Charles "Mel" Dailey, and a step son, Richard Crocker.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a visitation will be held on Thursday, December 17 from 4- 6 pm at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon. Private burial of ashes will be in the Chillicothe Cemetery at a later date.
