VARNA- Steven E. Jesse, 59, of Varna, died at 10 AM on Tuesday October 4, 2016, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday October 08, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wenona with Fr. Steven McKinley officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM on Friday, October 7, 2016 at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon and one hour prior to mass at church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Wenona. Memorials may be given to The Steve Jesse Memorial Fund c/o First State Bank.

Steve was born in Streator on July 22, 1957, a son to Robert and Ruth Ann Schinzel Jesse.
Steve farmed all of his life. He was a crop adjuster for RCIS, a 4-H member & leader for more than 20 years, Assistant Dairy Supervisor at the Illinois State Fair, a member of FFA, and was a Pheasants Forever Chapter Charter Member. He also served as a member and president of Midland School Board and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Master Gardener.

Surviving are: his mother Ruth Ann Jesse of Varna; children, Christina ( Brian) Hanson of Varna, Jordan (Jacob Wallace) Jesse of Geneva, IL; siblings, Barry (Linda) Jesse of Allentown, NJ, Barb (Phillip) DuPuis of Merrimack, NH, Sue Jesse of Varna, Mark (Lesa) Jesse of Toluca, Mitchell (Melinda) Jesse of Lacon, Mary (Jerry) Maker of Strawberry Point, IA; 3 grandchildren, Brianne, Callie, and Webb; aunt Shirley Mann of Wenona; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Robert, and a brother Martin Jesse.
