Vernon Rummerfield

Vernon I. Rummerfield, 85, of Sparland and Lacon died on February 4, 2021 at UnityPoint Methodist in Peoria. Vern was born on October 10, 1935 In Quincy Illinois to the late Claude and Irene Acton Rummerfield. He was married to Mary Rogers in 1954, Claudia Littlejohn in 1974 and Barb Fardel Holocker in 1998.
Vern was a Caterpillar employee for 40 years. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Bears. he enjoyed camping fishing and was a longtime member of the Allendale conservation. His greatest joys were created while spending time with family and friends.
Vern is survived by: his sons Vernon "Butch" (Barb) of Sparland, James of Chillicothe, Rodney (Teresa) of Wyoming; daughters Deborah (Rick) Kelly of Wyoming, Paula Brown of Chillicothe, Phyllis (Ron) Endress of Lacon; sisters Norma Gronewald of Chillicothe, Lorene Joos of Peoria; 15 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by wives Claudia and Barb, daughter Rena, brother Claude "Jack", sister Millie Dobbins, and grandsons William J. Kelly and Joshua M. Neuhalfen
Cremation rights have been accorded and a graveside service will be held at the LaPrairie cemetery on Tuesday February 16 at 10am. Memorials can be made to Saint Jude, UnityPoint Hospice, or Illinois CancerCare and online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
