Henry - Virgil E. Adolphson, 93, of Henry, died on May 5, 2017 at his home in Henry with his family by his side.
Born August 15, 1923 in rural Varna Illinois to the late Fred and Hilma (Okerberg) Adolphson, he married Arlene Grosenbach on December 4, 1948 in Peru IL.
Virgil served his country in the Army during World War II. He farmed and worked at Caterpillar until his retirement. Upon retirement, he was an avid antique clock repairman while he continued to care, support and help his family and friends. He was dedicated to his wife, children and church. He was active in the church and on the church council, advisory board for the Henry High School and with the American Legion.
Virgil is survived by: his wife Arlene; son Kevin (Sheri) Adolphson of Lincoln, IL; daughters Lorraine Easton of Dunlap, IL and Marilyn Duitsman of Henry, IL; one sister Deloris Fountain along with 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 10 at 11 AM at The First Lutheran Church in Varna with visitations on hour prior and on Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon. Burial will be at the Granville Cemetery.
