Virginia M. Myers

Eureka - Virginia M. Myers, 85, of Eureka, IL formerly of
Gunbarrel City, TX passed away at 8:00 pm on Sunday, January 13,
2013 at Maple Lawn Health Center in Eureka, IL where she had been a
resident since 1996.

She was born on January 31, 1927 in Washington, IL a daughter of
Casper and Cora Lowery Faubel. She married Edward Myers on March
22, 1947 in Peoria, IL. He passed away on May 28, 1993.

Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (Larry) Duncan of Rockwell,
TX; Vanita Stroud of Coppell, TX; three sons, Gary (Elizabeth)
Myers of Eureka, IL; Gordon Myers of Tyler, TX; David (Sue) Myers
of Tyler, TX; two sisters, Arnola (Bud) Wright of Washington, IL;
Mary Ann Hyten of Eureka, IL; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-one
great-grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, and ten step
great-grandchildren.

Virginia earned a dietician certificate from Illinois Central
College. She worked for the Mabank, Texas School District as a
dietician supervisor for 17 years. She worked at Maple Lawn Homes
as a cook and head dietician for 16 years.

She loved gatherings with her family. Virginia always had open
arms and an open home to anyone in need and was willing and ready
to offer a meal. She enjoyed sewing, canning, cooking, camping, and
fishing.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 18,
2013 at Maple Lawn Memorial Hall. Pastors Bryan Miller and Doane
Brubaker will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to
the service at Memorial Hall. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery
in Washington, IL. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is
in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Communities of Maple
Lawn. Online condolences may be sent to the family at
