Wayne Brian

Wayne Gerry Brian, age 77, of Sparland, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 at UnityPoint Health Proctor Hospital in Peoria.

Wayne was born on January 10, 1945 in Peoria, IL to Donald and Mildred Irene (Bacon) Brian.  They preceded him in death.

Surviving are his significant other of over 20 years, Barbara Kear; his daughters, Denise (Rob) Novak of Ladysmith, WI and Teresa (Matt) Thompson of Hanna City, IL; four step children; Teresa (Tim) Swanson of Chillicothe, IL, Charles Edward Kear of Sparland, IL, Michael Leonard (Dawn) Kear of Lowpoint, IL and Jack Alan (Desi) Kear of Henry, IL; six grandchildren; five step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Donna Bedingfield of Washington, IL, James (Laura) Brian of Tucson, AZ and John (Jannice) Brian of Chillicothe, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

After high school, Wayne served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He worked as a machinist in the Tech Center for Caterpillar and then for Allied Welding in Chillicothe before he retired. Wayne enjoyed his family and visiting with friends. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing softball, racing and riding motorcycles as well as John Deere tractors.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon. A memorial service with Military Honors will be held immediately following visitation at 7pm. Memorials may be made to The ARK in Lacon or St. Jude.
