William Anderson

William D. "Bill" Anderson, 87, of Lacon passed away at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Lacon on September 29, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Peoria on April 1, 1929 to the late Harold and Anna Mildred Russell Anderson he married Joyce Shafer in Chillicothe on November 27, 1954. Joyce passed away on July 25, 2012.

Bill worked as a cost accountant for Caterpillar for 23 years and was the owner of Sav-Mor Liquors in Lacon for over 19 years. In the early 1960's Bill and Joyce owned and operated the Tip-Top Cafe in Lacon. After retirement he served as the accountant for numerous Lacon businesses. Bill was a member of the Masonic Order.

Surviving Bill are his children: Jeffrey (Michele) Anderson of Peoria, Vickie (Dana) Donaldson of Morton, Kirk (Stephanie) Anderson of Roanoke, Shelly Bruce of Morton; 10 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Monday October 3, 2016 at 11am at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon with visitation times on Sunday from 4-6 pm and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Lacon Cemetery.
