William Vogel

William P. "Lee" Vogel 71 of LaRose died on January 23 at 3:22 pm. Born in Eureka on April 18, 1943 to the late Prosper and Gertrude Maubach Vogel, he graduated from Washburn High in 1961 and started farming the family homestead after the loss of his father. Lee also would help other farmers around the area whenever they would ask. He had a terrific sense of humor and was willing to strike up a conversation with friend or stranger anytime. He was a member of the Catholic Singles Alumni.
Surviving are his sister Mary Jo Paine of Peoria and his nephew William G. (Kathryn) Paine of Bloomington. Lee will also leave behind good friend Dale Laible and numerous others.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 28 at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lacon with Father Tom Mizeur officiating. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-6 pm at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon and one hour prior to Mass. A Rosary will be said at 6 pm on Tuesday. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth's Cemetery in Washburn. Memorials can be made to the church of your choice. Online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
