Willis Walin

Willis E. Walin, 89, of Varna died on February 24, 2015 at 2:10pm in Peoria at Unity Point Proctor. Born on July 13, 1925 to the late Elmer and Ellen Carlson Walin in Roberts Township in Marshall County Illinois, he married Mary Armbruster on September 20, 1947 in Peoria. Willis farmed over 10 years before starting his trucking business. He owned Walin Trucking for over 20 years hauling grain for local farmers. He was also Roberts Township Road Commissioner for over 15 years. He was a member of The Immaculate Conception Church in Lacon.

Willis is survived by his wife Mary; sons Gregory(Yong Mi) of Henry, Phillip (Laura) of Glendale AZ, Steve (Julie) of Dunlap, Curt (Debra) of Safety Harbor FL, Brian of Brookfield; brother Norman (Jean) of Varna; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. He was also preceded by his brother Eldon Dean and sister Virginia Colson.

Services will be held on Monday March 2 at 11:00am at the Immaculate Conception Church in Lacon. Visitations will be held on Sunday from 3-5pm at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon and one hour prior to service at his church. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lacon following mass. Prayer service will be on Sunday at 5pm at Lenz. Memorials can be made to the Varna Ambulance or his Church. Online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com
